Prayer Request : Lefroy House Social Service Centre

Lefroy House Social Service Centre in Dublin asks us to remember them in our prayers, especially on Tuesday 18th June at 10 a.m.

Lefroy with the Nightlight Project is a radical development undertaken by the Salvation Army in service provision for homeless young people in the Republic of Ireland, in which they strive to provide a safe and supervised Reception area for up to 14 young people both male and female who are aged between 12 and 18 who are on the streets for one reason or another. (On occasion they have had to deal with younger children.) The young people that come to them are very much in crises: most have relationship, communication, aggression and addiction problems, and have suffered abuse of one kind or another. They feel "it is safer on the streets". Whilst on the streets these young people are open up for all sorts of evil, and over the last year the Lefroy House people have personally been aware of a number of deaths.

The Centre has the facilities and the plans for refurbishment, what they need now is the finance, hence this request for this particular date and time as it is then that their proposal will be presented to the health board in Dublin, so that they will help fund the work the Project wishes to do with these young people, so that they will come into a knowledge of a Lord and Saviour who wants nothing from them than to love them.

So please, please remember Lefroy House in your prayers, especially on Tuesday 18th June at 10 a.m.
