Noted for her calmness at all times, serious demeanour, and open contempt for other crew members' idiotic behaviour, Ruri has her own distinctive appeal to viewers.
The Ruri character essentially follows the pattern of "boy wonders" such as Will Robinson (Lost in Space), Wesley Crusher (Star Trek: The Next Generation) and Lucas Wolenczak (SeaQuest), but differs not only by being female and a lot cuter(!) but also through the nature of the rest of the crew and her disposition toward them.
